Perfect for 5th-grade students, this paddle sport is played on a smaller court with a lightweight paddle and a plastic ball with holes. At Hogan Athletics, our experienced teacher-coaches work with students in small groups to master basic strokes, understand rules, and develop proper court positioning, while emphasizing leadership development and critical thinking skills that benefit students both on and off the court.

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport that combines elements of football and soccer with a flying disc, making it perfect for 5th-grade students. This exciting sport involves throwing, catching, and strategic movement across the field, with players working together to advance the disc toward their end zone. At Hogan Athletics, our experienced teacher-coaches work with students in small groups to master fundamental skills like proper throwing techniques (backhand and forehand), catching methods, and field positioning, while emphasizing our core values of leadership development and sportsmanship. Following our established approach of having trusted teachers as coaches, we create an environment where students learn both athletic skills and important life lessons about teamwork, respect, and self-officiating - a unique aspect of Ultimate Frisbee known as "Spirit of the Game.

Track at Hogan Athletics focuses on building aerobic capacity (long runs) and strengthening our anaerobic system with shorter distance faster paced runs. Following our proven approach of having trusted classroom teachers as coaches, we create an environment where students can build endurance, improve speed, and develop proper techniques while learning valuable lessons about personal goal-setting and self-improvement.

At Hogan Athletics, our experienced teacher-coaches work with students in small groups to master proper form and technique, aligning with our mission to "challenge your student athlete both mentally and physically." Just like our other athletic programs, we maintain our unique approach of having trusted classroom teachers as coaches, creating a supportive environment where students learn to build strength, improve flexibility, and develop healthy fitness habits that will benefit them both in sports and daily life.

Capture the Flag is an exciting, strategic team game that combines fitness with critical thinking, making it perfect for 5th-grade students. This dynamic activity involves speed, agility, and teamwork as players work together to capture their opponent's flag while protecting their own. At Hogan Athletics, our experienced teacher-coaches work with students in small groups to master game strategies, develop speed and agility skills, and learn effective team communication. Following our philosophy of "challenging your student athlete both mentally and physically," we create an environment where students learn both tactical thinking and athletic skills. Just like our other sports programs, we maintain our unique approach of having trusted classroom teachers as coaches, ensuring students develop leadership qualities and strategic thinking that will benefit them both in games and life.
